Situated only 20 minutes from Lahaina Town, it is conveniently located to the markets, movies, restaurants, harbor and town activities. Kahoma is wonderful agricultural land on Maui in Hawaii. Spectacular panoramic views that overlook Ka'anapali and the islands of Lana'i and Moloka'i within Maui County. The land area is zoned agricultural and includes the Kahoma Reservoir and a small cabin. This property has spectacular views overlooking Kaanapali, and the islands of Lana`i and Moloka`i has several active diversified agricultural enterprises, including a cattle ranch.

The Kahoma lands are also host to two eco tour activities: Skyline Adventures and Kahoma Ranch ATV tours. Skyline Adventures is setting up courses spanning two gulches in the valley. They educate from pre-k to seniors in high school.

The Launiupoko area consists of various large lot subdivisions; Mahanalua Nui, Makila Plantations, Makila Nui, and Pu'unoa. These lots range in size from two to 28-plus acres, and creates a wonderful feeling of space and open area around you. Each lot is allowed a main house of any size, a cottage of 1,000 square feet and an accessory barn. The ocean and mountain views are breathtaking and the sunsets are incredible!

The area is zoned agricultural, allowing small farms, gardens, horses and other ag uses around the neighborhood. There is also a wonderful walking, biking, and jogging trail that runs throughout the subdivisions for miles. Launiupoko Beach Park is located directly below the subdivision. Welcome to Makila Plantations on Maui in Hawaii! These large acreage parcels have breathtaking views of the ocean and mountains. Located above Launiupoko Beach Park (West Maui), the properties can range from three to 80 acres. The area is zoned agriculture, so it allows you the ability to have horses, goats, orchard groves and more. Makila Plantations II is made up of minimum size five-acre lots. On these parcels you can build a cottage and a main house. Many properties have numerous fruit trees, coconuts and palms, and Native Hawaiian ground covers to enhance the property.

Come home to Maui and the peaceful surroundings that make up Makila Plantations. Having been a resident of the neighborhood since its start in 1999, I have watched it grow tremendously. My knowledge of the uniqueness of the area, the neighborhood and its trails, the private water system, the Agricultural Zoning and what that allows, can be a benefit to both sellers and buyers alike in our subdivision. Lahaina Town is the old Whaling town of times past. You can visit the Front Street boutique shops and galleries for shopping, find some of the best restaurants that feature Pacific Cuisine as well as a good cheeseburger. Within its few blocks, you can find many of the day to day business center operations such as banks, the post office, dentists, doctors, clinics, schools, as well as the markets, movies, and eateries. There is quite a mix of residential homes, planned condomium areas such as Aina Nalu, Channel House, Lahaina Residential and others. We also have beach front condo's for sale in the Lahaina Shores complex.

Wow, we have some of the freshest produce right here in our own back yard in West Maui! If you haven't discovered the small farms in the agricultural subdivisions of Launiupoko, Makila, Puunoa or Olowalu located just south of Lahaina, you will be in for a wonderful surprise.

I went to visit Maui Breeze Plantation's 5 acre farm in Makila. Follow the bright green signs leading up the Launiupoko hill and it will take you straight to this family run farm. There is easy access into well cared for rows of fresh veggies ripe for the picking. John Whittle and his sister Christy Kaster will walk you through, picking out huge cucumbers, beautiful purple eggplants, bright peppers, and beets fresh from the source. John even provides spontaneous cooking tips along the way. Maui Breeze Plantation is also a great source for landscaping plants at the most reasonable prices I've seen in a long time. They are open Tuesday to Sunday fro 8-4pm or all them at 757-0678.

Another gift from the aina is Theo Morrison's Neighborhood farm. The quaint Neighborhood Farm produces fresh eggs, luscious fruits and crisp vegetables. A farm harvest list is emailed weekly with details about the crops that will be available that week. People on the list email back their selections, which are either delivered or are available for pick up. There is no charge or obligation to be on the list. Delivery is only from Kapalua to Launiupoko. Email Theo at "thefarm@hawaii.rr.com" The Neighborhood Farm is building a farm stand at 65 Awaiku Street in Launiupoko which will be open daily at the end of the month. The farm stand will feature fresh produce and eggs and will be a pick up site for orders. You can leave messages and orders at 667-5150.

I'm not eggsaggerating...fresh eggs are the best! Damon and Margo Gill of Hulukea Farms have 80 chickens that produce big brown eggs! They can be reached at 661-3914 to place orders.

How about having your next child's birthday party at Lahaina Animal Farm? They will do hayrides showing off their St. Croix sheep, goats, horses, desert tortoises, ducks and chickens. Then off to a pony or horse ride and picnic lunch. The day culminates in an arts and crafts project the kids can take home. You can also buy fresh eggs, fresh herbs, papayas, and bananas. These are just a few of the bountiful treasures you can find in the small acreage farms in Launiupoko and Makila. Let's support our local neighbors and reward ourselves with delectable fresh produce grown right in our own backyards!
